'Legal' Hats At the recent P&C meeting a discussion was held regarding the school's 'Sun Safe' initiatives and the wearing of hats outside the classroom. A decision was made to endorse the wearing of 'legal hats' within our school. |

A 'legal hat' is: a broad brimmed hat or a legionnaires cap (a cap with a flap at the back to protect the ears and neck) MOST PREFERABLY BLUE IN COLOUR. |

Our sun safe policy will be amended to now state that only students with 'legal hats' may play in the sun shaded areas. Those students without a cap or those with a cap or visor that does not provide full protection will be restricted to playing in shaded areas only. The P&C have placed a bulk order for navy blue 'bucket' style hats (similar in style to the popular surf brands style of brimmed hat) and are available now for purchase at a cost of $4. The P&C and staff would appreciate your support in helping us to ensure the safety of your children by providing your child with a 'legal hat' as soon as possible. Please remember to label hats clearly with your child's full name.
